Design costs start from as low as £95.
There are fundamentally 2 different styles of web site:
- Static -These are so called because the information (content) on the site has been predefined when the site was designed.
- Dynamic – this is where the information is stored in a separate database, ie. not written on to the page at design stage. The information is then pulled from the database and displayed on the page as and when needed. This means that the information can be changed or deleted without the need for web design skills.
Static Web Site Prices:
Please note: The following prices are a baseline price. Each individual site varies in complexity but this will give you an indication of costs.
- Low Cost Start Up Package:
This package caters for those who are either just looking to get started or have 1 specific product or service they want to promote. This is a simple 1 page site which includes your content (a reasonable amount of text, a photo and a logo), simple contact details, such as your e-mail address, phone and fax number and business address details.
This can be used as an entry point from which you can later expand if required. It provides a good entry point for starting out online and leaving room for expansion later. It is also a good option if you have an urgent deadline for publishing a deadline but have no content. For example, if you have to advertise in print and need to include a web address.
Cost: £95
- 2-5 Page Web Site
This typically contains a Home Page, Contact Page (with more advanced Contact Form as well as phone etc.), Products Page, Services Page, About us. Of course these pages will vary according to your site’s needs.
Cost: £295
- 6-10 Page Site
This builds on the mid range package above to allow more specific pages.
Cost: £395
- More than 10 pages
This would need to be discussed as it will be getting more complex and may require more time and resources.
‘Dynamic’ Sites – Content Management Systems (CMS), eCommerce and Blogs
Many web designers are also software programmers and create their own customised dynamic sites. This is not my area and prefer to use existing third party packages that have the advantage of being widely used and having large online communities that provide support, advice and applications.
I prefer to work with Joomla for CMSs and Wordpress for blogging. For eCommerce sites I use Zen Cart or OsCommerce.
Whilst these software packages are free to download and install the cost involved with setting up a site using one of these lies in the time involved in creating a customised Template, installing the software and adding customisations as needed.
As each site varies in complexity please contact me to discuss prices.
